Band History
 On 1st April 1967, the old Territorial Army was disbanded and the Territorial and Auxiliary Volunteer Reserve (T & AVA) was formed. At the same time the old unit bands were disbanded and a new T & AVR Band for Wales was formed. This Band, named The Band of The Welsh Volunteers after its sponsor unit, was based on the 2nd Battalion The Monmouthshire Regiment Band and absorbed bandsmen from other units in Monmouthshire and East Glamorgan.

On 1st April 1971, the T & AVR was expanded to form three battalions: 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion The Royal Welch Fusiliers, and the 3rd and 4th (V) Battalions The Royal Regiment of Wales. Later that same year the South Wales elements were incorporated into the 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion The Royal Regiment of Wales Band. This in turn became the Band of the 2nd (Volunteer) Battalion on 1st October 1993, when the 3rd and 4th Battalions amalgamated.
1997 saw the formation of The TA Band of Wales, and in April 1999, due to the formation of The Royal Welsh Regiment, the Band became The Regimental Band of the Royal Welsh Regiment.
As a result of another amalgamation in March 2006 between The Royal Regiment of Wales and The Royal Welch Fusiliers to create The Royal Welsh, the Band became known by its current name - The Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh.
