Dreamflight
The Band feels particualrly pleased to be able to play some role in helping these children enjoy their 'once in a lifetime' experience, by performing to the children over the Dreamflight weekend that takes place in October each year. The Band usually performs in the hotel that the children are staying in the evening before the flight leaves, as part of the evening party, and also the following day as the children board the plane. Founded in 1986, Dreamflight is a registered UK charity whose purpose is to send seriously ill children on their 'holiday of a lifetime' to Florida. While many charities devote their energies to funding long term research projects or the purchase of medical equipment, Dreamflight believes it is just as important to bring some fun and joy into the lives of children who perhaps can't wait long enough for the breakthrough they need or whose illnesses and treatments have brought pain distress and disruption to their lives.
