The band has been very fortunate in being invited to play at many major sporting events, in particular at major Rugby Internationals featuring the Welsh Rugby team. The Band's continued presence at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, has been greatly appreciated by rugby spectators across the world. This was manifested in October 1999 when the band played for the opening and closing ceremonies of The Rugby World Cup, which included the final.

On Monday 30th October, a CD produced in aid of children's charity, NSPCC Cymru/Wales was released in a bid to inspire Welsh rugby fans to lead our boys to victory during this year's autumn international series. The release coincided with the start of the Autumn International series on 4th November with Wales v Australia at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, which the Band will be performing at.
The WRU and Sain (Recordiau) Cyf - Wales, have collaborated to produce the special edition CD which features the Welsh National Anthem recorded during last year's autumn international series and features Welsh stars Katherine Jenkins, Bryn Terfel and Aled Jones accompanied by the Regimental Band of the Royal Welsh.
Exclusive tracks of Cwm Rhondda, inspired by Queen, (better known to many rugby fans as Bread of Heaven) is an amazing arrangement and are sung by world renowned opera stars Bryn Terfel and Rhys Meirion in both Welsh and English. NSPCC Cymru/Wales Full Stop Campaign Manager Carol Gillanders comments on this fantastic fundraising gesture: "We're delighted that such talented stars chose to support the NSPCC in this way, Welsh rugby fans are so passionate and patriotic, I'm sure this CD will find its way into every rugby mad household in Wales.'
The CD is available in well known record stores across Wales, at the Millennium Stadium shop, during the Autumn International matches next month, and also online for £3.99 by clicking here.
