Cheque for £1300 helps kids get their Dreamflight
Posted: 16:37 23/10/08
dreamflight.jpg Last Sunday, 19th October, Major Denis Burton presented Dreamflight Co-Founder and Trustee Patricia Pearce MBE with a cheque for £1300 from the Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh.

The money had been raised by the Band and Drums over the past year through a variety of activies ranging from a sponsored weight loss and a casino night, to a gruelling bike ride from Brecon to Aberdare. As if the cycle via the Brecon Beacons was not difficult enough, the atrocious monsoon-like conditions dampened everything except their enthusiasm, being driven by the thought of helping provide a holiday of a lifetime to deserving children...and the thought of enjoying a refreshing pint relaxing in the hot tub afterwards! Charity Bike Ride
Posted: 11:07 30/06/08
On 16th August members of the Band and Drums will be raising money for Dreamflight through a sponsored bike ride from Brecon to Aberdare.

Although not a great distance, it is for a great cause. Dreamflight's aim is to take seriously ill and disabled children to Orlando for the holiday of a lifetime visiting the Theme Parks. Every year the Band and Drums perform to the children over the Dreamflight weekend that takes place in October. For more information on the charity, click here.

Following the success of the S4C search for a choir last year, Codi Canu returns to the Millennium Stadium at the Wales v. France match on 15th March.

Once again the Regimental Band of The Royal Welsh will be accompanying the choirs in the competition, which this year has had a new 5th choir formed to represent North Wales.

The Band wish all choirs the best of luck in the competition, and look forward to seeing them in the Millennium Stadium on 15th March!
